Mother City

This was my participation in an art exhibition in Athens, back in 2009. The theme was Athens itself, and each artist/pariticipant was asked to express his view of the city. Having at the time just moved to Rethymnon (in the island of Crete), I grasped this opportunity to give form to my thoughts about abandoning the place I had lived for the best part of my life. It was a time of confilicting feelings: Hope, excitement, but also loss and uncertainty. The story, “Mitera Poli” (Mother City), is the only one I have done until now that touches upon personal aspects of my life.
